Rose Brown loves her job with Effingham Health System.

The feeling is mutual, as Brown was honored as the employee of the year at Effingham Health System‘s annual employee service awards banquet.

All the 2014 employees of the month were recognized and, from among them, Brown received the top award. Brown, a certified nursing assistant, was chosen “for her outstanding resident care and love to her residents, as well as her determined dedication to the Care Center and her peer staff,” said Michael Murphy, strategic business liaison for Effingham Health System.

“Rose truly goes above and beyond on every aspect of her service to the Health System,” Murphy said.

Along with having the employee of the year, the Effingham Care Center was honored as EHS’ department of the year. Murphy praised the commitment to quality shown by all the staff on the Care Center’s various teams.

“Their goal is the absolute best care to the residents we serve and how to always improve that care and quality of life for those residents,” he said. “As a result of this quest to be the best, the Care Center has received multiple awards and continues to gain recognition in the long term care industry as well as other quality-oriented programs.”

The employee honored for the most years of service was Margaret Edwards from the radiology department. She has been with EHS for 30 years.

“Margaret has received many compliments from her patients for her excellent radiology skills and her kindness to her patients,” Murphy said.

Congratulations were extended to the employees who were recognized for five, 10, 15, 20 and 30 years of service.

“What an outstanding accomplishment for each and every one in these groups,” Murphy said.
