The Effingham Chamber of Commerce announces a new tourism grant program available to Effingham County non-profit organizations working on tourism-related projects.

“Our Chamber is excited to be able to offer financial help to our local museums and other tourism attractions as a way to partner with our community resources in expanding Effingham County Tourism,” said Chamber Tourism Committee Chairman Scott Hinson.

Chamber Director Rick Lott said the grant process will be easy to complete and that this is a great way for the Chamber to partner with our local tourism organizations. He said this process would be a great way to fund marketing materials, tourism programming, and possibly even help with funding for part-time staffing.

The new grant program was announced at the first meeting of the Chamber’s new Tourism Committee. Chamber President Randy Shearouse said the new committee was a way for the Chamber to pull together all of the stakeholders involved in Effingham tourism and to explore the needs of the community and find ways to work together to enhance our tourism product.

Any Effingham County-based non-profit organization desiring a grant application should contact Lott at 754-3301 or by email at ricklott@effinghamcounty.com.
