Dr. Mark L. Mudano

Mark L. Mudano, MD, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, has joined the Effingham Health System family of providers. Dr. Mudano will begin seeing patients March 5 at Effingham Orthopaedic Services, a new specialty practice providing a wide-range of orthopaedic surgical services.

Dr. Mudano will provide patient consultations in his office, located on the main Effingham Health System campus in Springfield, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Surgeries, including knee, hip and joint replacements, will be performed in the new state-of-the-art surgical suites that recently opened after completion of the 58,000-square-foot facility expansion.

"We’re very excited to welcome Dr. Mudano to our growing family of specialists. As a part of our overall modernization plan, it was important that we build a surgery department that could accommodate the space needed for the latest technology and advances in Orthopaedic surgery," said Tammy Mims, chief operating officer of Effingham Health System. "By offering these services here in our community, we’re giving patients a viable option to have their surgery closer to home, as well as convenient rehabilitation services often needed after surgeries of this kind."

Prior to joining Effingham Health System, Dr. Mudano was with Southeastern Orthopedics in Milledgeville. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he also completed his residency and earned his Fellowship in reconstructive knee surgery and sports medicine.

Dr. Mudano is also board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
