•For advertising panel discussion, each panelist will introduce themselves, then one by one, they will each offer tips to advertising to the best advantage in their medium. Answer audience questions.

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd Annual Small Business Summit on May 12 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The summit will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center at I-95 and Highway 21 in Port Wentworth.

The conference will focus on what some of the area’s most successful entrepreneurs are doing to find new clients and customers, lower their operating costs, adapt to changing markets, and succeed in today’s economy. The event will offer marketing tips for today’s economy, computer tips and how to get more out of your networking.

One session will feature a panel of advertising executives, who will offer the lowdown on the best ways to utilize media to boost business. The panel will include television, radio, newsprint and cable.

Speakers for the day include Dr. Bill Dickinson of the Wet Willies group, Marjorie Young of Carriage Tour public relations, Noah Yaughn of ARC Media, and Stephen George and Lynn Voss of SBAC. The advertising panel will include Stacy Jennings from the Savannah Morning News, Ira Rosenblatt of Cumulus Broadcasting, Steve Sharman of Comcast Cable, Karen Tanksley of the Effingham Herald, and a representative from WTOC-TV.

Attendees will be registered to win door prizes, such as a one month print/web package in the Effingham Herald that includes four quarter page ads and a short tower ad on the website for a month. This package is valued at $1,170; a $500 Advertising Package, provided by Cumulus Broadcasting, and a $450 ad package from Effingham NOW with an ad consultation, among others. The Cumulus Group is made up of five different radio stations that serve the Savannah-Effingham area.

For Chamber members the cost is $25 for lunch or the seminar alone; $39 for lunch and the Seminar. For non-Chamber members, the cost is $35 for lunch or seminar alone and $49 for both lunch and Seminar. To have a booth at the seminar, the fee is $50 for Standard members. A table for eight is $280 and includes a booth, lunch, and the Seminar.
