Dennis Webb returned to the Effingham Industrial Development Authority to receive the board’s gratitude.

Webb, who resigned from his position on the IDA last month, was given a plaque signifying his tenure on the board and the time he spent as IDA chairman.

“All the time and energy and efforts you gave, we applaud them,” said current IDA chairman Chap Bennett.
Webb, who also has served on the Springfield City Council, was named IDA chairman in January 2010. He stepped down from his post, citing health issues.

“It’s been one of the most rewarding boards I’ve ever sat on,” he said of the IDA. “It’s certainly challenging ,sometimes frustrating. But this group of people, the staff and all the board members, has just been wonderful. We’d disagree but we all had the same goal in mind.”
