It didn’t take long for the crowds to start filling up the reborn Goody’s in Rincon.

The store, now operated under the Stage Stores flag, re-opened to customers on Wednesday, less than a year after the Goody’s chain folded and took stores such as the one in Rincon down with it.

“We’re very excited,” said Phillip Brown, Goody’s district manager. “We’re getting a good response from the community. We’re excited to be back here. We think it’s a community we belong in.”

Prior to Wednesday’s official opening, the store held a sneak preview of sorts the day before.

“We had a soft opening with a very good response,” Brown said, “people coming and checking out the store, seeing what we had to offer.”

Even before the doors flung open officially Wednesday, the store’s rebirth was met with anticipation, according to Brown.

“We had a lot of customers driving by, asking us when we were going to open,” he said. “It seems people were excited for us to be open.”

The store also has a lot of specials under way for its grand re-opening.

“This grand opening actually coincides with our anniversary sale, which is our biggest sale of the year,” Brown said.
