The Division of Continuing Education of Georgia Southern University is offering Beginning and Advanced Project Management courses at the Coastal Georgia Center in downtown Savannah beginning Sept. 30.

Together, the 12-hour Beginning course and 24-hour Advanced Project Management course will complete the 35-hour course requirement for the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional certification application.   The certification is an impressive credential for professionals in any field who are responsible for managing projects.  The curriculum of both courses provides a documented step-by-step guide for success from project initiation, through execution, and to conclusion.

Beginning Project Management, a two-session course (Sept. 30 and Oct. 8), covers the key skills and tools needed to be successful in the planning and completion of assigned projects.

Advanced Project Management, a four-session course (Oct. 21 and 29 , and Nov. 11 and 19)  advances training with the internationally accepted standard of Project Management from The Project Management Institute.

The instructor for both courses will be Doug Winters, a Project Management Professional certified by the Project Management Institute and a Six Sigma Black Belt certified by Southern Polytechnic State University.

All classes are taught from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at The Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St., Savannah.  Details are available at ceps.georgiasouthern.edu/conted/project mangament.html.
