City of Port Wentworth offices closed until Sept. 9
Hurricane report

Because of Hurricane Dorian, Gov. Brian Kemp issued a mandatory evacuation order for all Georgia residens who live east of Interstate 95.

 All city owed buildings in Port Wentworth will be closed until Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m.

City Court cases scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled and letters will be mailed to advise citizens of their new court date. 

All critical city employees are to report on Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Sandbag locations are open at the Festival Grounds located on Barnsley Road and Dixie Street, and Fire Station 2, located off Ga Hwy 21 and International Trade Parkway. 

The sandbags are for the citizens and business owners of Port Wentworth. There is a limit of 10 bags per household.
