GUYTON -- Steve Collins has decided to remove himself from the race for mayor of Guyton.

Collins' withdrawal leaves Michael A. Garvin Sr. and Russell Deen to vie for the post.

Collins is currently the Post 1 member on the Guyton City Council but he will surrender his seat at the end of the year to either Tamela Mydell or T. Marshall Reiser.

Mayor Jeff Lariscy opted not to seek re-election.

The election is set Nov. 5.
