County adjusts four-day work week
New schedule will be Tuesday through Friday

Many Effingham County government offices are going to stay on a four-day work week schedule — but the schedule is changing.

Since this summer, many offices have been on a Monday through Thursday schedule, working 10 hours each day. Commissioners voted 4-2, with Chairman Dusty Zeigler and Commissioner Reggie Loper voting against, to extend the pilot program through the rest of the calendar year.

Commissioners had three different motions on what to do with the pilot program before settling on the option that changed the four days of operation for the county administrative complex and most offices at the county annex to Tuesday through Friday.
