Effingham County commissioners will take up an agreement with the three municipalities for county jail services at their meeting today.

Commissioners tabled the item at their March 1 meeting upon concerns from Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie. Commissioners also had tabled the proposal at their Feb. 15 meeting.

“He wanted to go back over medical care,” county attorney Eric Gotwalt said. Gotwalt added the sheriff had concerns about the number of probation violations from Rincon.
