With temperatures expected to drop below freezing over the next couple days, Effingham Emergency Management is providing an emergency warming station for citizens who would otherwise be exposed to inclement weather.

The warming station will be at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 155 Goshen Road in Rincon. It will open at 6 p.m. today and tomorrow.

"Our mission is to provide a safe and comfortable place to maintain a safe body core temperature in the event temperatures drop below 30 degrees," said Effingham Emergency Management Director Ed Myrick.

For more information, call the Effingham emergency operations center at 754-8205 or the warming station manager, Jean Vaught, at (912) 388-6613.
