Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a late Wednesday night incident that ended in a reported stabbing.

According to authorities, deputies were called out about 11 p.m. to a home on Reynard Drive in the Foxbow Farms subdivision. Deputies said a woman at the home told them that the father of a teenager living at the house had come there and confronted the child.

The woman intervened, according to reports, and she and the father got into a physical altercation. During this, the teenaged son reportedly stabbed his father.

The father fled the scene, and another family member began to drive him to Memorial University Medical Center. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police officers intercepted the car at Highway 204 and Old River Road. He was then taken by ambulance to Memorial with life-threatening injuries.
