Deputies arrest two in joint operation with U.S. Marshals

Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Pooler man who has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

Effingham deputies, along with U.S Marshals, took Catherine Hickling and Victor Munn, 46, into custody at a Cubbedge Drive residence Tuesday morning.

Hickling was wanted by the U.S Marshals Service and she was taken into custody by them.

Munn provided Effingham County deputies with false information on Hicklings whereabouts. She was later located inside the residence hiding in an attic.

Munn was taken to the Effingham County Jail where he remains at this time.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Additional charges are pending.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
