Deputies catch Bluffton fugitive
Also faces drug charges in Effingham

Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man late Thursday night wanted by the Bluffton (S.C.) Police Department for armed robbery.

Desmond Hill, 27, of Rincon, also faces charges in Effingham County for possession of powder cocaine and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

The Bluffton Police Department requested the assistance of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in locating Hill.

Deputies converged on a residence in Westwood Heights late Thursday night where Hill was taken into custody.

Hill was currently out on bond in Effingham County where he led deputies on a high speed pursuit through Rincon earlier this month where he also faced drug charges.

He is being held at the Effingham County Jail without bond.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
