A man advised that some of his tools had previously been stolen from a neighbor’s house. He found out who committed the theft and requested the tools back, but the thief refused. The thief could not be located at the time. The reporting officer was John Reinhart.

Identity Theft Fraud when Using/Possessing Identity Information

A man advised that on two different occasions someone had used his personal information to apply for a credit card. He was unsure of who could have committed the crime. The reporting officer was John Reinhart.

Theft by Deception-Felony

A man stated that someone had bought his refrigerator off social media and sent him a money order for $1,500. Later, the person said that they could not take the refrigerator and they requested the money order back. The man complied and later saw an unauthorized transaction on his banking account for $2,000. He believed that this transaction was related to the refrigerator incident but he could not prove this. The reporting officer was Kristopher Withem.

Child in Need of Services

A woman stated that she accidently locked her infant daughter in her vehicle. After an unsuccessful attempt to unlock the car with a coat hanger, a baton was used to break the window. The woman thanked police and took the baby inside to cool it off. The reporting officer was Kristopher Withem.

Wanted Person-Warrant Service; Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects; Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance

An unknown informant revealed the location of a man with an outstanding warrant. He was found in a house which contained several needles, a glass pipe and small amounts of marijuana. A woman who also had an active warrant was found at the scene as well. They were both swiftly arrested. The reporting officer was Max Barber.

Affray (Fighting)

A woman stated that she had gotten into a verbal altercation with her brother while driving down the interstate. She spit in his face and attempted to get him to leave the vehicle but he refused to do so. The two began to physically fight during which the brother started to strangle the woman. He ultimately left to vehicle, and the woman drove away. The brother confirmed this story and both parties agreed to settle their differences. The reporting officer was Karyn Witherington.

Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance; Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects; Wanted Person-Warrant Service; Failure to Maintain Lane

A woman was spotted failing to maintain her lane while driving down the road. She claimed that loose steering is the reason why she was swerving. A background revealed that she had an outstanding warrant out for her arrest, and she was placed into custody. A search of her vehicle revealed several empty pill bottles and drug residue. Wanted Person-Warrant Service; Agency Assist

A woman stated that she wanted to serve a male tenant a criminal trespass warning because he was harassing her at her job. He was not at the house at the time, but he was soon located on the highway. A background check revealed that he had an active warrant out for his arrest, and he was placed into custody. His vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. Burglary-First Degree (Felony)

A man stated that someone broke into his house while he was visiting his mother. He had found that the back glass door was busted and that four of his guitars had been stolen. The man suspected his brother and his friends of the theft as they had been known to do meth in the past. He had no evidence to support his theory, however. The reporting officer was Garett Buckles.

March 1

Theft by Taking-Felony

A woman advised that more than 80 pills from her and her husband’s medication had been stolen. The pills had been stolen from the woman’s purse and from a safe in the house. The woman suspected her grandson of the theft. He denied this accusation but boasted about his use of marijuana. The reporting officer was James Hurst.

Domestic Dispute

A man stated that his daughter was being unruly toward him. The daughter countered by saying that she was in her room with a friend when her father barged in and began to yell at them. They left the house for a short time but when they returned the man proceeded to slap his daughter across the face. She then hid in her vehicle and waited for police to arrive. The man denied the allegations and other witnesses provided conflicting stories. All parties agreed to separate for the time being. The reporting officer was Victoria Wisecarver.

DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

An employee at a local elementary school stated that a parent had possibly driven to the school impaired. It was noted that she was unsteady on her feet and could barely stay awake. She later admitted to being under the influence and driving to the school without a license. She failed a field sobriety test and was swiftly arrested. The reporting officer was David Cribbs.

Aggravated Assault; Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of or After Crime

A woman stated that she cut her husband on the arm because he hit her in the face. It was noted that the husband was holding his arm and suffering from heavy blood loss. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. The woman’s daughter said that her father had a history of abusing her mother and that the two had gotten into an argument on this date. The husband claimed that he only hit the woman after she scratched him. When he did this, she proceeded to pull out a box cutter and use it on his arm. A man stated that he and his wife were contacted by a friend who was encouraging them to make an investment. They followed the friend’s instructions and waited for their promised check. The next day, the friend informed them that the truck delivering the check had been seized by the IRS. Police later confirmed that the investment was a scam. Harassing Communications

A man advised that his wife was receiving threatening text messages from the half-brother of a woman who use to live with them. He added that the woman was being housed at a mental facility at the time. The half-brother could not be contacted. The reporting officer was John Reinhart.

A woman stated that a man was passed out in the parking lot of the convenience store where she worked. The man was unresponsive so emergency medical services were contacted. A man was seen failing to maintain his lane while driving down the road. It was noted that the inside of his truck smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. He refused to conduct a field sobriety test, but a portable breath test confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest a short time later.
