Ellabell man busted for selling meth

One man is behind bars after being arrested for selling methamphetamine in south Effingham County.
 
Randy Dwayne Cooper, 47, of Ellabell, was taken into custody after an investigative stop on Blue Jay Road near Sandhill Road on Tuesday afternoon. Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies found several bags of methamphetamine in Cooper’s truck along with pseudoephedrine, hypodermic needles, steroids and a knife. 
 
Cooper has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, sale of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, unlawful use of communication facilities, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. 
 
Deputies seized Cooper’s Ford F-150 following the arrest. He remains in the Effingham County Jail.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
