A Clyo woman faces drug and weapons charges after Effingham County Sheriff deputies caught her tending to her illicit plants, according to reports.
Anne Redd was arrested Thursday afternoon at her Reedsville Road home, as Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Unit investigators arrived and found her tending to her marijuana plants, according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.
“We received information she was growing marijuana,” he said. “Deputies came out to the residence, and when they pulled up, she was tending to her plants.”
Investigators discovered about a dozen plants and also found a handgun and a shotgun in the home. The pot plants were confiscated, Ehsanipoor said.
Redd was arrested without incident. A convicted felon, Redd was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other offenses.
Redd was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
