A Springfield man is in the Effingham County Jail on a series of child sex crime charges.

Jason E. Peavy, 40, of Springfield, was arrested Tuesday by Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children, one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of child molestation and one count of interference of interference with custody.

Because the investigation is continuing, further details have not been released.
