State troopers investigate 11 February wrecks

State troopers from the Rincon post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 11 traffic crashes during February in Effingham County.

Sgt. 1st Class Riner said the traffic crashes resulted in six injuries and no fatalities.

Troopers from Post 42 issued 384 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes 12 arrests for driving under the influence, 146 citations for speeding, 130 seat belt violations, and eight child restraint violations. Troopers also issued 373 warnings.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
