SPRINGFIELD – Director of Elections & Registration Laura Bassett has an important message about early voting for the Nov. 7 election in Effingham County.

“The biggest thing is, if you would be voting in one of the cities – Springfield, Rincon or Guyton, you will not go to City Hall,” she said. “You will come here to our office at 284 GA Hwy. 119 South in Springfield to do everything in one swoop.”

Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 16 and runs through Oct. 21, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Oct. 23 through Oct. 28 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Oct. 30 through Nov. 3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Ballots may be cast on two Saturdays at the Elections office: Oct. 21 and Oct. 28.

In addition to the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) referendum, voters who reside within the city limits of Springfield, Rincon, or Guyton will have city council races on their ballot. The TSPLOST measure will be the lone item for voters who live in unincorporated Effingham County.

Voters who opt to cast their ballot on Election Day will do so at their assigned polling location, which is on the voter registration card, or can be found by going to the Georgia Secretary of State website at https://sos.ga.gov/ and click the “Elections” tab.
