Effingham County firefighters put out a fire that damaged a home in Eden on Wednesday.

The fire broke out in the home on Baywood Drive early Wednesday afternoon, and Effingham Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene for nearly two hours, according to spokesman Lt. Walter Wright.

“There was a lot of interior damage,” he said.

The fire was contained to one bedroom, Wright said, and no one was hurt.

A dozen firefighters from three engine companies and one service company responded. The fire department’s investigator is looking into the cause of the blaze.
