Effingham County Sheriff’s Office to host ‘Christmas Bike Giveaway’

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA: The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with ‘AreYou64orOlder.com,’ will host a ‘Christmas Bike Giveaway’ for less fortunate children in Effingham County. This event will be held Thursday, December 19th, at 1 p.m. at the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, located at 500 West First Street, Springfield, GA.

“We are grateful for the donations we received from community partners to make this event possible. Our deputies and staff are looking forward to interacting with our youth in a positive, uplifting manner and to see the smiles these bikes will bring to their faces,” said Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie.

To be eligible to receive a bicycle, you must do the following:

 

  • Download the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office mobile app. (Go to the app store your phone and type in ‘Effingham County Sheriff’)
  • Next, click on ‘Resources’ in the lower right corner then click on the first tab that says, ‘Christmas Bike Giveaway.’

 

From there, fill out the needed information:

    • Child and guardian’s names
    • Phone Number
    • Child’s age (must be between age 2-16)
    • You must reside in Effingham County, provide your address
    • Hit Submit

You must send your entries through the app. No emails will be accepted.

App entry deadline is Sunday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. Any entries after 6 p.m. will not be included.

Selected families will be notified on Dec. 18 with instructions.

The number of bikes is limited, and preference will be given to the children of the families who are in most need of assistance.
