All first responders in Effingham County are encouraged to bring their families and bait/tackle to the Family Fishing Derby at R.B. Baker Pond in Springfield on Saturday.

A fishing license isn’t required to participate in the Effingham Heroes-sponsored event that is slated 8-11 a.m.

Door prizes will be awarded in various categories and breakfast will be provided by McDonald’s.
