SPRINGFIELD -- Effingham Health System is partnering with the Department of Public Health to administer COVID-19 vaccines.

The State of Georgia is currently in Phase 1A, which means Effingham Health System is providing vaccines for health care workers or volunteers in health care, and residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. This includes hospitals, outpatient physicians’ practices or clinics, pharmacies, EMS, public health, and home health care.

Effingham Health System will move to Phase 1B when advised by the Department of Public Health. This group will include essential workers and adults older than 65 years old, or those adults with high-risk medical conditions.

This guidance is subject to change based upon vaccine availability and updates from public health.
