Ford named superintendent

SPRINGFIELD -- During its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, the Effingham County Board of Education selected Dr. Yancy Ford  to replace retiring Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse.

Ford, set to assume his new post July 1, received unanimous support. He has served the Effingham County School District for more than two decades. 

The former Effingham County High School principal is currently the assistant superintendent.
