A Guyton man died Sunday after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a trailer on Interstate 95 in west Chatham County.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded to I-95 at the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway shortly after 2 p.m. for a report of a crash. Officers found Steven Cochran, 62, suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics rushed Cochran to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigators have learned Cochran was driving his 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle north on I-95 when he struck the rear end of a trailer being towed by an Isuzu Trooper. The driver of the Isuzu, 68-year-old Charles Bresky, was not injured.
Officers closed two of the northbound lanes while they investigated the crash and cleared the wreckage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, although the driver of the Isuzu was traveling under the minimum posted speed limit. No charges have yet been filed.
