Hospital lends helping hand to Americus

A hospital is usually the place a community turns to in times of crisis.

But when a destructive tornado destroys the health care facility, it is good that other communities are willing to help, and this is just what Effingham Hospital employees did.

Employees joined together and organized several fund raising activities to help Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus. Sumter Hospital was destroyed March 1 by a tornado.  

Effingham Hospital employees decided to help a community hospital in need.

The employees raised $1,000 and sent it to Sumter Regional Rebuilding Fund.
