SPRINGFIELD -- Today just before 3 p.m., the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a local hunter who believed he discovered a shallow grave with human remains just off Hwy 30.
Once deputies were on scene, they confirmed it was in fact human remains.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab was contacted to assist with identification.
