Interest in the Effingham Industrial Development Authority’s holdings on Interstate 16 has picked up considerably, according to IDA CEO John Henry.
Henry said there are several active projects looking at the IDA’s land there, some that are within the scope of a larger project the IDA has been courting for a while.
“We’re at the point where we need more decision-making capacity,” Henry said. “We’re expecting to have to make a decision pretty soon. We have been showing the site, and project activity is skyrocketing right now.
“I-16 seems to be a hot site again.”
