Lady Mustangs can't knock Lady Patriots from unbeaten ranks

SAVANNAH -- The Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots stayed perfect Thursday by topping South Effingham 51-35 in the Savannah Country Day Christmas Classic.

The Lady Patriots ran their record to 9-0 with a decisive 51-35 victory. The loss was the third straight for the Lady Mustangs, dropping them to 5-6.

South Effingham has struggled offensively recently. Cheyenne Bosewell paced the Lady Mustangs with nine points. Mallori Jenkins and Maleece Newbill each scored seven.

Abi Oates sparked Pinewood Christian with 19 points. Megham Boatright added 12.

South Effingham will wrap up the classic Friday at 10 a.m. vs. Sayre School of Lexington, Ky.

Carter shared the heartbreaking news on social media and in interviews with Fox News, CNN, and Atlanta News First, revealing that Janie’s body was found on her mother’s birthday. Carter said his granddaughters survived by climbing onto a roof and waiting for rescue.
