It was a welcome and unexpected phone call for Ray McKinney.

Earlier this week, the Republican nominee for the U.S. House 12th District seat got a call from Sarah Palin’s office telling him the former Alaskan governor and GOP vice-presidential nominee was endorsing his campaign.

“We can count on Ray McKinney to be a strong, independent voice for Georgia’s 12th Congressional District,” Palin wrote on her Facebook page. “As Ray says, ‘If you like the way things are going now, vote for the other guy.’”
