SPRINGFIELD – Get ready to take a journey back in time, to the life and music of “The Man in Black” performed by Cash Unchained featuring James 3.

The band has been traveling all over US bringing the sights and sounds of the legendary Johnny Cash and their next stop is the Mars Theatre in Springfield.

Limited tickets are still available for Saturday’s show.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at marstheatre.com or by calling 754-7617.

Johnny Cash was not the greatest singer or musical technician, but his sound was unforgettable.

Steady like a train, sharp like a razor, with the perfect blend of country, rock ‘n’ roll, and folk music, Cash paved the way for artists of all genres for years to come.

With no Johnny Cash, we don’t have the music we’ve all enjoyed over the past six decades.

Cash Unchained is a national touring tribute to the Man In Black.

The group is fronted by powerhouse James 3, with a huge passion for Johnny Cash and music alike.

James captures Cash’s trademark baritone voice, while his band delivers the infectious, driving rhythm of the Tennessee Three.

They will entertain you with Cash’s greatest hits including “Folsom Prison blues”, “Ring of Fire”, “Walk the Line”, and many more. You will also hear songs from the end of Cash’s career including his final hit “Hurt” written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).
