RINCON -- The City of Rincon will soon become a more attractive, welcoming place.

During Monday's regularly scheduled meeting, the Rincon City Council approved the construction of six city limit signs to be placed at the town's main entrances. Edwards Interiors will build the signs out of long-lasting materials at a cost of $14,286.72.

The signs will be blue with gold trim, similar to current ones that are showing signs of wear.

City staff is working on an addition to the signs that will acknowledge World Series champion Josh Reddick of the Houston Astros.

In other business, the council approved H&H Service Inc.'s site plants for Taco Bell and KFC restaurants to be located on South Columbia Avenue. The property consists of 2.047 acres total and is zoned GC-General Commercial; the property is owned by Bradley Creek Properties, LLC.
