A fatal traffic accident occurred Friday night on Old Augusta Road South in the area of Lake Cherie. 

The crash claimed the lives of Nathaniel Johnson of Clyo and his passenger, Sandra Raife of Savannah.

Johnson's Dodge Caliber reportedly lost control negotiating a curve and crossed the center line into another vehicle, a Ford Flex. The driver of the Flex, a Rincon woman, was transported to the hospital with serious injuires.

 The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
