SPRINGFIELD -- Even though the annual occasion to "spring forward" in time occurred only a few weeks ago, Effingham County is going to "fall back" -- actually "way, way back" -- very soon.
The Old Effingham Festival is set April 21 at the Living History Site at the corner of Pine and Early streets across from the Old Courthouse. Set to start at 10 a.m. with the firing of a cannon, it will feature displays from the prehistoric period up until the 1960s.
The daylong festival will include vendors with crafts, food, vintage vehicles, animals, music and a variety of children's activities. Plus, 12 buildings dating from 1790 until 1950 will be available for viewing, including the Blandford Depot.
See the April 18 edition of the Effingham Herald for more details.
