One man killed in Thursday accident

A Kildare man was killed when a tractor trailer collided with his pickup Thursday evening.

George Perry Jr. was headed west on Clyo-Kildare Road and was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Highway 21. His vehicle was struck by a loaded tractor trailer being driven by Randolph Wayne Bradley of Savannah. Perry's Ford pickup was hit in the passenger side door.

Perry was pronounced dead on the scene by Effingham Coroner David Exley. Bradley was taken to Memorial Health University Center for treatment of his injuries. 

Southbound lanes of Highway 21 at Clyo-Kildare Road were closed for an extended period as Georgia State Patrol troopers conducted their investigation.
