An important day in the history of Veterans Park of Effingham County will be acknowledged Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend a celebration of the  Feb. 28, 2001, decision by the initial planning group to build the park. It is located at the intersection of 1st Street and Ga. Hwy 21 in Springfield.
