Rincon officials were glad to finally cut the ribbon on the tennis courts at Patriots Park Tuesday, marking completion of the first phase of the project.

The courts have been open for public use since October. Many already have taken advantage of free play and the after sunset play, thanks to state of the art lighting installed and set by computer to turn off at 11 p.m.

Most of the progress in this first phase was made in approximately seven months, but wet weather during summer delayed some of the landscaping and final touches.
