BRUNSWICK -- There were plenty of explosive plays in Friday night's Effingham County-Brunswick football game.

Unfortunately for the visiting Rebels, the Pirates had considerably more firepower.

Brunswick (5-2, 2-1) tallied four touchdowns that covered at least 32 yards, including a 103-yard interception return by Jaylen Jackson, in their 49-28 Region 2-AAAAAA victory at Glynn County Stadium.

Toot Johnson posted scoring runs of 72 and 64 yards for the Rebels (3-5, 0-2), who trailed 35-7 before their offense enjoyed much success.

Johnson finished with 285 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. He tallied a third-quarter score from nine yards out.
