An emergency road closure with a detour is in place on Hwy 21 between Crossgate Road and Piedmont Avenue due to an Air National Guard C-130 crash on the roadway near Gulfstream. This closure will stay in place until further notice.

Traffic detour is signed as follows: 

Motorists traveling north on Hwy 21 will be detoured onto Hwy 307 North, then westward to the Jimmy Deloach Connector and the Sonny Dixon Interchange back to Hwy 21.
 
Motorists traveling south Hwy 21 21  will be detoured  onto Sonny Dixon Interchange to Jimmy Deloach Connector then travel west to Hwy 307 South back to Hwy 21.

Signage is in place to alert the traveling public of the road closure ahead with directional signage along detour route.
