It is believed that a plane crash near the Effingham-Bryan county line has claimed the lives of three people.

Air traffic control lost contact with a small aircraft that took off from Savannah Monday morning. The three passengers were reportedly headed to Cobb County.

Bryan County Emergency Managment Agency Chief/Director told WTOC that it is likely that there are no survivors. Work crews are trying to get to the scene in a wooded area.

The crash site was discovered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
