Ramp work to affect I-16/I-95 interchange

A slow-moving concrete grinning operation this weekend will affect traffic for the eastbound Interstate 16 Exit 57A ramp and southbound Interstate 95 Exit 99A ramp.

The contractor has scheduled closure of one exit ramp at a time for approximately 12 hours, weather permitting. The timeframe of work runs from today at 9:30 a.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday. All work is weather contingent.

The ramp closures are a necessity for the contractor to grind the concrete surface to creating a smooth roadway for motorists.

The state Department of Transportation reminds motorists that this is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
