Red Terrors torment Rebels

Glynn Academy raced to a 7-0 first-inning lead en route to a 12-3 Region 2-AAAAAA baseball victory over Effingham County in Brunswick on Friday.

The Red Terrors tallied only eight hits but benefitted from four free passes and two errors in the early going to cruise to victory. They also exploded for five runs in the third inning.

The Rebels finished with seven hits, including a team-best two by Jerid Stokes and Chase Howze. Stokes, Ryan Harley and  Perry Fulcher each colleced an RBI.

Colton Long was the losing pitcher. He surrendered seven runs (one earned), three hits and four walks in one-third of an inning.

Blake Vincent worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits.

Chrys Hawkins didn't give up a run in the last 3 1/3 innings.
