Arrests/Citations

Jeremiah Deshun Coffee, Hwy. 21/Commerce Drive, Springfield – citations issued for seatbelt violation and possession of marijuana.

Donald Bernard Whitaker, Samuel Smalls Ave./Mewborn, Guyton – failure to maintain lane, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, DUI.

John Lamar Griffin, Hwy. 21/Lisa Street, Rincon – failure to yield, driving while license is suspended.

Amanda Hall, Caroline Way, Guyton – willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Jailyn Janell Pineda Ochoa, SR 26/Pineview Drive, Bloomingdale – citations issued for speeding in excess of posted limits (61 mph in 45 mph zone), driving while license is suspended, holding or supporting a wireless device while driving.

Ronell Cash Price, Log Landing Road/Hwy. 21, Springfield – wanted person in Columbia County.

Incidents

Effingham Hospital – Deputy responded to a woman who reported she was bitten by a small dog when she reached out to help it. The woman had never seen the dog before and didn’t know if it belonged to anyone. A rabies report was generated.

Honey Ridge Road, Guyton – a man reported he has an ongoing issue with his neighbor’s dog entering his yard and acting aggressively toward him. Deputy talked with the neighbor’s who retrieved their dog without incident.

River Oak Drive, Bloomingdale – a man alleges that his neighbor is stealing electricity and water from his home that is vacant during remodeling. Pictures and a report were submitted to the ECSO Criminal Investigation Department.

Lupine Street, Guyton – a woman reported that an unknown person hacked into her crypto currency account and drained nearly all of the $7,000 in that account plus $950 from her checking account. Her bank advised her to file a police report.

Crape Myrtle Court, Springfield – a woman reported that she and her adult daughter had a verbal argument over dinner.

Indica Place, Guyton – a woman reported that she and her husband are separated but that he constantly sends her threatening texts and phone calls.

Berryville, Clyo – a woman reported that her son’s vehicle had the rear driver’s side window bashed in, but nothing appeared to be taken. The vehicle was parked at the residence because it was inoperable.

Charlton Road, Rincon – a man reported that he is having ongoing issues with his neighbor trespassing on his property and making threats.

Boaen Road, Springfield – a woman reported that unknown person(s) dumped a load of brush on her property that also contained some trash. She removed the brush, but wanted the incident documented in case of further issues.

Mockingbird Drive, Springfield – a woman reported that a package marked as “Delivered” by amazon was missing from her residence. She alleges that a group of juveniles who were riding around in a golf cart in her neighborhood may have taken the package from her mailbox. The contents of the package were valued at $30.

Hwy. 119, Clyo – the manager of a Dollar General reported they found a card skimmer on a machine. The manager is reviewing video footage to see if they can find out when and who put the skimmer on the machine. Deputy advised them to keep ECSO informed of any additional evidence they find.

Central Ave., Guyton – a local business owner reported that a former employee is posting disparaging videos and comments about the business on various social media platforms, even though she has been told numerous times to stop.

Del Mar Court, Guyton – a woman reported that her neighbor was upset that the woman’s small dog was in the neighbor’s yard, even though there is a sign that says, “Keep off the grass.” The woman picked up her dog and walked home. The neighbor kept threatening the woman and wanted to fight.

Mulberry Way, Rincon – a man reported that his neighbor’s two big dogs entered his yard and tore a tarp from the side of a chicken coop. He did not indicate if any chickens were harmed. He said he just wants his neighbors to make sure the dogs stay in their own yard.

High Bluff Road, Rincon – a woman reported that while she was trying to break up a fight between her two dogs, one of the dogs bit her hand. She said the dogs were up to date on their rabies vaccines. She also agreed to quarantine the dog for 10 days.

Black Pine Drive, Springfield – a man reported that while driving to a friend’s house, his girlfriend “suddenly panicked” stopped the car and called 9-1-1. She accused her boyfriend of arguing with her and striking her on the ear and making it bleed. Deputy and EMS arrived but did not observe any injuries or bleeding on the woman. She refused treatment from EMS. Her boyfriend was transported back home by deputies.
