Former University of Georgia football coach and member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Vince Dooley, was put to work Tuesday afternoon signing autographs at the Kroger in Rincon as hundreds of fans turned out to get a book, football or other piece of memorabalia signed.

Dooley, joined at the signing table by his wife, Barbara Dooley, was at Kroger signing copies of his many books as well as anything else autograph seekers put in front of him.

Dooley coached the UGA football team for 25 years and led the Bulldogs to more than 200 victories, including the 1980 National Championship with a 17-10 victory over Notre Dame to clinch the title.

The legendary coach has published more than nine books focused on life, the South and football, including: “History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia”, “Hairy Dawg’s Journey Through the Peach State”, “Vince Dooley’s Garden: A Horticultural Journey of a Football Coach” and “How ‘Bout Them Dawgs”.
