Dear Editor,

It was deeply moving to read in the Herald that good neighbors so far away in Effingham County stepped up to the plate to help tornado victims in Tuscaloosa and Moody, Ala.

I’d like to express my personal thanks to the Rincon Police Department and Pineora Baptist Church for helping storm victims in Alabama. We, too, in Prattville have also been helping, along with others from around our state. Luckily, we dodged the storm where several former Effingham Countians now live.

Now we are adding to our prayer list those who may be adversely affected along the Mississippi River.
