Carter the best choice to succeed Kingston

Dear Editor,

When Buddy Carter was the mayor of Pooler, I was the city’s financial officer. We worked together closely with the council and the city manager during those years as our small town grew to the bustling city that it is today.

Buddy Carter provided tremendous leadership and was extremely unselfish in that role, even donating his salary back to the city’s benevolent fund so that the money could go to families in need. There were other singular acts of kindness that I witnessed, like when he paid the health insurance premiums for an employee who was going through cancer and could not afford the insurance.

Remarkably, Buddy was both strictly conservative and frugal with the city’s resources and generous with his own time and money. These are the types of qualities we need in our next congressman.

I know Buddy Carter as a man of leadership, compassion, character, and strong morals. Our country is going down the wrong track and the First District needs a congressman of integrity to replace Jack Kingston.
