A 90-minute lightning delay couldn’t stop the party at the Corral. South Effingham’s season opener may have ended in a tough 14-6 loss to New Hampstead, but the stands were rocking late into the night. From the rowdy student section to the Mustang band keeping the beat, Effingham Herald correspondent photographer Birk Herrath captured the energy, spirit and grit of Mustang football’s return.
