Under the Lights and Lightning: Mustang Nation Shows Out
The Corral was alive with student antics as an inflatable swim ring made its way through the crowd.
A 90-minute lightning delay couldn’t stop the party at the Corral. South Effingham’s season opener may have ended in a tough 14-6 loss to New Hampstead, but the stands were rocking late into the night. From the rowdy student section to the Mustang band keeping the beat, Effingham Herald correspondent photographer Birk Herrath captured the energy, spirit and grit of Mustang football’s return.
The inflatable swim ring made its rounds, bouncing from student to student as the crowd kept the energy high throughout the night.
Hawaiian shirts, plastic water jugs and nonstop cheering — the student section went full beach mode at the Corral.
