HINESVILLE -- Effingham County scored touchdowns on three of its last four possessions of the first half to pull away from host Bradwell Institute 35-12 on Friday night.

The Rebels improved to 5-2, 3-1 in Region 2-AAAAAA, setting up a key matchup with Statesboro next Friday.

ECHS quarterback Matthew Ford completed 20 of 25 passes for 204 yards and the Rebels running game found the endz one. Xayvier Coppock scored three touchdowns on runs of 8, 8 and 1 yards. Miquel Allen had 87 rushing yards and a 6-yard TD run and Colton Oglesby added another score on a 1-yard run.

ECHS' defense recorded two safeties and held Bradwell's offense scoreless until midway through the fourth quarter.
